Tulamben is an hour drive through beautiful countryside and rice terraces. The 120 meter long USS Liberty (torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in WWII), rests at the sandy bottom, about 40 metres from the beach. The wreck is fully-grown with all kinds of corals, anemones, gorgonians, and sea fans and around it swims a complete encyclopaedia of tropical fish. What is unforgettable is swimming in a school of big-eyed trevally fish and finding yourself in the middle of thousands of them. Another option is the drop off. The variety of inhabitants will surprise you.
